Welcome to Lynoa!

Meet Lynoa:

Our governor is Stephanie M. She is responsible for leading our colony and making final decisions. Our banker, who is in charge of all of our money is Matt B. Another important job is our recorder, who is Katie W. This person must keep track of everything we do! Our trader, Gabrielle A., has good negotiating skills to deal with the natives and other colonies. Lastly, our mapper is the one who keeps track of our land (how much it is worth, who is in the area). This is Anthony S. Together, we are Lynoa!

Why Did We Colonize:

Our group decided to go to the New World in order to colonize this new area and gain wealth and power. We have been sponsored by a private company which has given us initial supplies and will send us a shipment mid-way through our adventure. At the conclusion, we must pay the company one quarter of our wealth.

What We Stand For:

In our flag we chose to use three red diagonal lines two near the corners and one between the two blue diagonal lines. We choose the color red because red stands for courage. We also made two blue diagonal lines because blue stands for freedom. We chose to make a green border because green stands for agriculture. The backround is black. We chose to add a lion in the middle because our team name is Lynoa which is Manoa and Lynnewood morffed. Lynnewood’s mascot is the lion, so we added a lion. Our team also has yellow stars in the corners because yellow stands for sun, wealth and justice. This is what the Lynoa Flag looks like.

 Ships' Names and Cargo:

Our first ship is named Gabrielle and carries 2 men, 2 women, and 1 child. We have two horses and three farm animals on this ship. It also has four guns for hunting and 300 units of food. Our second ship is called Stephanie and has all the same people and cargo. Our third and final ship is the Katie and is also the same.

Our Colonization Journal

09/27/07 - We've just finished loading our ships. We're all nervous and scared. We have no idea whats waiting for us in the New World. We hope we get to see our friends and family in England again. Here we go!!

9/28/07 - We're doing good so far. We almost died from a strong current, but we survived.

Our colony has 1,200 miles to go. We still have all our three ships and supplies and animals. We don't know what's going to happen next, but hopefully nothing bad will happen.

10/3/07-  Our colony had smooth sailing the last 1,200 miles. Our colony can't wait to get some good fresh food. We had food with worms in it. The water tasted disgusting, and we could hardly drink it down, but to survive, we had to drink it. We're doing okay right now. We just hope everything goes smoothly.

10/5/07-  Today  is the day we land.  Ship Gabrielle is moving into the bay first.  Wait!! We can here the captain of ship Gabrielle calling to us.  He said that the bay is shallower than he thought and that we won't be able to make it.  We're all very disappointed!  Soon after the attempt we found out that ship Gabrielle lost half of its cargo.  Luckily we lost no people.  After a long talk during a discusting supper, we decided that we are going to attempt again tommorow. We hope we can land.  We all could use a piece of meat!!

10/8/07 -  This is our second attempt to land.  We're scared to see what will happen next!  We were all waiting below deck.  The good news is we can hear the captain calling to us.  We landed successfully.  As we all walked ashore, we realized we landed in Seques territory. All we can hope for is that we can survive.
