Welcome to The Surfing Chipmunks!

Meet The Surfing Chipmunks:
Our governor is McKenzie, . She is responsible for leading our colony and making final decisions. Our banker, who is in charge of all of our money is D.J. Another important job is our recorder, Lindsey, she must keep track of everything we do! Our trader, Matt, has good negotiating skills to deal with the natives and other colonies. Lastly, our mapper is the one who keeps track of our land (how much it is worth, who is in the area). This is Michael. Together, we are The Surfing Chipmunks!
Why Did We Colonize:
Our group decided to go to the New World in order to colonize this new area and gain wealth and power. We have been sponsored by a private company which has given us initial supplies and will send us a shipment mid-way through our adventure. At the conclusion, we must pay the company one quarter of our wealth.
What We Stand For:
Our flag has blue because we all have our own freedom and don’t do what we don’t want to do. Also we use yellow because it reminds us of lemons, and we all like lemons. We have red because we all have courage. We have the chipmunk because almost all of us like chipmunks. The chipmunk is surfing because we all like the beach. The background is a wave because we all love to go into the ocean and play in the waves! The sun is there because we all love to play outside. That is why we are the Surfing Chipmunks!
Our Ships' Names and Cargo:
Our first ship is named Rabbing Rabbits and carries three men, three women, and two children. We have three horses and five farm animals on this ship. It also has three guns for hunting and 100 units of food. Our second ship is called SpongeBob Square Pants and has three men, three women, and two children. The other items are the same. Our third and final ship is the Flaming Flamingoes and has three men, three women, and two children. All other cargo is the same.
Our Colonization Journal
01/22/08 - On our first week of sailing, we covered 1,000 miles due to fair winds, and the sea was calm. On our second week, we sailed 800 miles plus the 1,000 from last week. Altogether we've sailed 1,800 miles, and we have 1,700 to go. Many of us got sick and were close to death, but luckily none of us died. On the third week again we had good sailing again and sailed 1,000 miles. We have 700 miles to go. Today, the fourth week we only sailed 100 miles because the wind was strong and hard to go against. On the fifth week we finally got to land!! We are all so happy. We will try to land first.````````````
01/24/08- Yesterday we landed!!! The ship's occupants are beaming with joy. Also, we are quite happy with where we landed.
